Wear It! Oswego

Developed and program managed the Wear It! Oswego water safety initiative. Assembled team of local collaborators, including Brookfield Renewable Energy Group, the City of Oswego, NY, the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, and The Palladium-Times. Implemented comprehensive public outreach plan, relying on traditional and social media outlets to showcase campaign sweepstakes, advertising, public service announcements, posters, collateral and contests. Also collaborated with City of Oswego School District to educate local youth about the importance of water safety.

Developed and promoted via nationwide television and radio satellite media satellite tours the Fish with a Pro sweepstakes. Selected one lucky winner who got to fish with professional angler and Outdoor TV host Joe Thomas during the height of salmon fishing season on the Oswego River in Oswego.

GE Marine

Since 1990, implement annual proactive articles/publicity program for GE Marine, raising awareness of GE’s LM aeroderivative gas turbines with key audiences in the global commercial and military marine markets. Assisted in launch of the GE38 turboshaft engine to the maritime industry trade press via proactive press release and technical article preparation and placement. Also managed GE Marine’s advertising program with commercial and military marine trade publications. Prepared quarterly The Wave e-newsletter, distributed worldwide to key military and commercial marine customers.

Falls View Park

Visionary and event manager for Brookfield Renewable Energy Group’s Falls View Park in Cohoes, NY. Managed event logistics ranging from booking local musicians to working collaboratively with city officials and the City of Cohoes School District on thematic visual art displays. Collaborated with the Rensselaer County Conservation Alliance and New York State Conservation Council to hold annual Falls View Park Fishing Derby.

Brookfield Renewable Energy Group

Managed the design of advertisements that reinforce the importance of year-round water safety. Placed in newspapers and recreational media outlets throughout New York state. Developed various presentations, newsletters, press releases, brochures, posters and speeches to support Brookfield’s community outreach initiatives. Brookfield owns and operates 196 hydropower stations across the Americas, including 75 in New York State.

National Hydropower Association

Chaired judging committee for the National Hydropower Association’s Outstanding Stewards of Americas Waters award program. Coordinated event, media relations and onsite support for Advanced Turbine Research and Deployment Workshop held in Albany, NY. Attendees of two-day event included hydropower professionals, individuals from environmental and conservation organizations and members of federal/state/local agencies. Sponsors included Brascan Power, Electric Power Research Institute, National Hydropower Association and Hydro Research Foundation. Also served as advisor to the NHA board, and co-chaired the communications committee for six years.

Direct Grid Technologies

Prepared comprehensive press kit for the Solar Power International conference and coordinated media introduction of Direct Grid Technologies’ two new solar micro-inverter products for residential and commercial thin-film photovoltaic applications. Arranged one-on-one interviews for company president, garnering widespread coverage for this new company and its products with key industry media outlets.

GE Marine & Stationary Power

Supported GE Marine & Stationary Power’s unveiling of two new diesel engines (L250 and V250) to marine and business press. Separately, prepared and distributed press materials and arranged interviews with business and industry press on GE Marine & Stationary Power’s teaming with the C-Mar Group for a new hybrid tugboat technology. Supported company’s marketing efforts during the annual International WorkBoat Show.

Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks

Provided media relations and onsite support for the grand opening of the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks/Wild Center, Tupper Lake, NY. Attendees included then New York State Governor George Pataki and then U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. Assisted in promoting ongoing activities and programs at the museum, as well as the preparation of its crisis communications plan.

Reliant Energy

Developed/distributed press materials and provided onsite support for Reliant Energy’s Trenton Falls Scenic Trail grand opening. Unveiled new interpretive displays, scenic trails and waterfall overlooks. Collaboration with Town of Trenton, NY, restored public access to a unique site closed to the community for nearly 100 years. Trail is open to the public annually, on select weekends in the fall and spring.


Created Brookfield’s winning award entries for the Heritage Award from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the Outstanding Stewards of Americas Waters from the National Hydropower Association. Awards received for historical and recreational enhancements at Brookfield’s School Street hydropower plant in Cohoes.
